All prices on our catalogue pages are shown before HST, like every Canadian retail price. Your final invoice adds 13% Ontario HST to the line items that are taxable.
What gets taxed
Both the product and the labour portion of an electrical install are HST-taxable in Ontario. So a $2,000 EV charger installed becomes $2,260 all-in ($2,000 + 13% HST).
What doesn’t get taxed
- ESA permit fees — not taxable, billed at cost.
- Utility coordination fees (rare, when applicable) — pass-through, no tax.
Are you HST-registered?
Yes — Copper Bee Electrical Inc. is HST-registered with the CRA. Our HST number appears on every invoice. If you’re a registered business and want a digital invoice for your books, it’s automatically PDF-ready in your portal.
I’m a business — can I get an HST input tax credit?
Yes — most commercial customers can claim the HST paid on electrical work as an input tax credit. Talk to your accountant, but our invoices include everything CRA wants to see (our HST number, your billing address, line items).
What about new-home GST/HST rebates?
If you’re wiring a brand-new home that qualifies for the GST/HST New Housing Rebate, our electrical work counts toward the eligible total — ask your builder or accountant how to fold it in.
What if I’m exempt?
Some non-profits, Indigenous purchasers, and certain commercial sales are exempt. Send us your exemption certificate at acceptance time and we’ll issue a zero-HST invoice.
