* If you can smell burning, see sparks, or the panel is hot, stop reading and call. A licensed electrician answers, and we tell you what to do before we get there.
If there is fire or smoke in the building, call 911 first. If the mast, meter, or the line to the house is damaged, call your utility first — that side is theirs.
Mon–Fri 8AM–6PM · Sat 8AM–2PM
Outside these hours we still take emergency calls. Ring us and we will tell you what we can do.
Get everyone out and call 911. Do not open the panel to look — an arcing panel can flash over when the door moves. Call us once you are outside and safe.
Stop using it. If you can safely reach the panel, switch off the breaker for that circuit; if you cannot identify it, switch off the main. Do not pull the device off the wall to investigate.
Stay well back, keep others back, and call your utility first. The line and the connection are their side; we cannot legally work on it, and they will tell you where their responsibility ends.
Check whether the street is out — if it is, it is the utility and they will have a restoration estimate. If it is only you, check the main breaker. Main on and still nothing is a call to us.
Plenty of sites say they are. We would rather tell you the truth than take a call at 3am that nobody is going to answer.

In practice that means someone picks up and gives you a straight answer about the night. Sometimes that answer is no. If we cannot get to you we say so on the call, so you can ring someone who can instead of waiting on us.
Making a fault safe and carrying out the full repair are two different jobs. We do the first on the visit wherever we can, and we book the second properly rather than rolling it into the same invoice.
Trace the fault, isolate it, and get the rest of the house back on. A breaker that trips straight back after a reset is telling you something real — resetting it repeatedly is not a fix.
A breaker that will not hold, or a panel interior showing heat damage. We can usually make it safe on the visit; a panel that is failing structurally is a quoted job. More on this.
Scorched faceplates, a switch that buzzes, a connection that has been getting warm for months. Replaced and the cause found, not just the part swapped.
Flooded basements, water tracking into a panel, impact damage after a storm. Anything wet gets isolated before anything else happens.
Interconnected smoke and CO alarms going off with no fire, or one that will not stop chirping after a battery change. Usually a wiring or end-of-life issue, and it is a real callout. More on this.
The callout price is quoted on the phone. Any repair is quoted on site and agreed before it starts.
Ring us and describe what is happening. We will tell you the callout price and when we can be there.
No, and we would rather say so than take a call we cannot answer. Our hours are Mon–Fri 8AM–6PM · Sat 8AM–2PM. Outside these hours we still take emergency calls. Ring us and we will tell you what we can do. If we cannot get to you, we will tell you that on the phone so you can call someone else instead of waiting on us.
Smoke, a burning smell, sparks, or a panel that is hot to the touch. A shock from an outlet or a switch. Arcing, or damage to the mast, meter, or service line. A breaker that trips again immediately after being reset. Total loss of power when your neighbours still have theirs. Anything that is merely inconvenient — a dead outlet, a light that will not switch — is a normal booking, not an emergency, and costs less.
It depends where you are and what is already booked, so we will not put a number on it before we know. Call and we will tell you honestly when we can be there — including if the answer is not today, so you can make another call rather than wait on ours.
Starts at $250. We tell you the callout price on the phone before anyone is dispatched, and any repair is quoted and agreed before we start it. You will not get an invoice with a number on it you have not already heard.
Check whether your neighbours have power. If the whole street is out, it is the utility, and they will have an outage map and a restoration estimate. If it is only your property, check the main breaker. If the main is on and you still have nothing, or the mast, meter, or service line looks damaged, stay well clear of it and call your utility first — they will tell you which side of the connection is theirs.
The first job is to make it safe, and that we can almost always do on the visit — isolating a faulty circuit, replacing a failed breaker or receptacle, killing an arcing connection. Anything larger, like a damaged panel or a rewire, gets quoted before we start it and booked properly. Making it safe and doing the full repair are two different jobs, and we do not roll one into the other without telling you.
Pick the work and answer a few questions. A licensed electrician prices it and replies — installation and ESA permit included, no separate labour charge.
