Pricing & Payment

Do I have to pay a deposit?

For most residential jobs — no. Here are the exceptions and how deposits work when required.

For most residential work, we don’t take a deposit. You pay after the install is done and you’ve signed off. The exceptions are big-ticket or custom items.

No deposit required

  • EV chargers (any model)
  • Surge protectors
  • Lighting and Lutron Caséta installs
  • Smoke and CO detectors
  • Smart home cameras and doorbells
  • Load management devices
  • Most panel upgrades

Deposit required (typically 25% of total)

  • Whole-home generators — we pre-order the unit from Generac specifically for you. The deposit covers the wholesale unit cost.
  • Custom-order panels or breakers — e.g. specialty Siemens or Square D QO panels not held in stock.
  • Commercial jobs over $5,000 — standard commercial-trade practice.
  • New customer accounts above $7,500 total — a fairly rare residential category. Discuss with us if it applies.

How deposits work when required

Deposit is invoiced by email after you accept the final quote. We send a secure payment link — pay by credit card, e-transfer, or bank transfer. Work is scheduled within 24 hours of payment clearing.

Are deposits refundable?

Yes, with some conditions:

  • Cancel before materials are ordered — full refund.
  • Cancel after specialty materials are ordered (e.g. the generator is on the truck) — refund minus actual restocking fee, if any.
  • Cancel after install starts — deposit is applied to work completed; balance refunded or charged accordingly.

See refunds and cancellations for the full policy.
