Installation certificates, warranty, and post-install support

What paperwork you get, what the warranty covers, and how to reach us after install day.

The job’s not over when the electrician leaves. Here’s what comes after.

Same day — install certificate

You receive a Copper Bee install certificate in your portal. It lists the work performed, model numbers installed, the electrician who did the work, and the date. Keep it for warranty claims and home resale records.

Within 5 business days — ESA inspection certificate

For jobs requiring ESA inspection (see ESA permits explained), the inspector visits, signs off, and an electronic certificate lands in your portal automatically. This is the document insurers and future buyers ask for.

Our 1-year workmanship warranty

Anything we installed wrong — loose connections causing flicker, a misrouted wire, a breaker that nuisance-trips because of our wiring — we come back and fix free of charge for 12 months from install day. No fine print.

Manufacturer warranties on the products

  • EV chargers — typically 3 years (Tesla 4 years, Grizzl-E 3 years).
  • Generators — Generac 5 years on standby units.
  • Panels and breakers — 10+ years from Eaton, Square D, Siemens.
  • Smoke and CO detectors — Kidde 10 years.
  • Surge protectors — 10-year limited from Schneider / Eaton.

If a product fails inside its manufacturer warranty window, we coordinate the claim with the manufacturer and do the swap labour at no charge to you.

Annual maintenance reminders

For generators, your portal will remind you when annual service is due (Generac requires it to keep the 5-year warranty). For everything else, no scheduled maintenance is needed.

Reaching us after install

  • Question or concern — message in your portal. Same-day response during business hours.
  • Warranty issue — message your portal with photos / video. We schedule a return visit usually within 1–3 business days.
  • Emergency (power outage, sparking, burning smell) — call (647) 890-4747 immediately. After hours, leave a message; if it’s an emergency, also kill power at the panel and call 911.
